While I was going through school I struggled with memorization. It’s just such a shame that even though there are so many studies and techniques on how to memorize things, I was never taught any of it. I still don’t have a good memory but at least I’m having fun learning new things using different memory techniques. I’ll share what I have here in hopes that they will make life easier for others.
Here’s a quick into to the reason of why mnemonics and making connections to help us memorize. I’m sure there are better contents out there, but I thought since I’ve created these slides at some point when teaching. Have at it.
I’ll just post them here in no particular order as I have time to upload them. If there’s something that you are interested in seeing, just send me a note and I’ll see if I can dig up anything or create something new.
- Greek
- Anatomy
- Biology
- Periodic Table
- Hebrew Alphabet
- History
- General Science
- Bible
Some miscellaneous ones that I’m not categorizing for now:
Here are a few other mnemonics that I’ve used:
- Presidents (Yo Millard Fillmore by Will Cleveland) There’s an older version in pdf format floating around on the internet.
- Geography (Visualize World Geography) and I’ve got some stuff for learning the Capitals
- Books of the Old Testament
Use these as you see fit, but ultimately I encourage everyone to look into different memory techniques and apply them in your own life. Mnemonics really works best when they you create them. As a word of encouragement, creating and using them gets easier with practice.
